Water is an abundantly available natural resource on our planet. Kolavai Lake is located near Chengalpattu city and the distance 25 minutes away from Oragadam in Chennai which equals to 17.5 km via Perumalpattu – Kottamedu Rd and NH32 and on another route Kolavai lake is 36 minutes via Kancheepuram – Chengalpattu Rd/Ullavur-Chengalpattu Rd which is 22.8 km from Chennai. The destination can be reached by trains from Tambaram and en route to Kolavai through train is a journey to be devoured by eyes with much green all around. A journey to Kolavai Lake from Chennai via road is also a good one but train is the best way if you are a nature lover!!!!

Kolavai Lake a Serene Perennial

The Kolavai lake is in Kancheepuram district south west of Chengalpattu city is a beautiful lake which is perennial in nature. In past it has been a big lake but with growing population and encroachments on the lake side, it has been reduced to half its size yet the lake has maintained its serenity which pulls crowd to it.
